Background Information

 

Kagoma Community Based Organisation (KACOBA) is a registered not for profit, Community Based and Non Government Oganisation, (Certficate number S.5914/3111-NGO Board Uganda), founded in 1995 and first registered in 2000.

Mission
Our Mission is to reduce poverty related suffering among the neediest and marginalised groups of people of Uganda.

Aim
The organisation's major aim is to improve the quality of life of the neediest and marginalised groups of people in Uganda through: Facility based care for HIV/AIDS patients, Community Based Initiatives on Food security, Nutrition and Sustainable Agriculture, Psychosocial support to children affected by HIV/AIDS, among others.

KACOBA started in only one District of Jinja, but currently it is operating in twelve (12) districts of Jinja, Mayuge, Kamuli, Kampala, Wakiso, Nakaseke, Nakasongola, Mityana, Gulu, Mpigi, Luwero and Mubende. The projects include: I am a person who matters, HEN project, Women's Initiatives, Youth Initiatives, Community and Home based Health Care, Alcoholic Anonymous, among others.
